Note: Please copy these images to your computer, as we will use them to practice with in today's class.

Adjustments

The Adjustment options in Photoshop are found in the Image menu

We will look at

• Brightness/Contrast
• Colour Balance
• Hue/Saturation
• Replace Colour
• Selective Colour

Filters

Filters in Photoshop are essentially special effects. As such, they should be used sparingly, since it is very easy to get carried away with the possibilities. The danger with that is that people may ignore your image and only notice your special effects.

Some filters, such as the Blur and Sharpen filters, solve common image problems, but most of the others are purely to do with being creative.
