We have spent the past few weeks learning the basics of HTML, and we are able to build a simple web site from scratch. Today we will make use of Adobe Dreamweaver (formerly Macromedia Dreamweaver), one of the most popular HTML editors. Software applications like Dreamweaver allow you to create web sites without any knowledge of HTML. However, to use Dreamweaver to it's full potential, some HTML skills are a distinct advantage. We will cover the basics of using Dreamweaver in class today, and for further information, consult the extensive online help and tutorials available from the Help menu in the software. The most up-to-date book in the IADT library on Dreamweaver is Dreamweaver 8: The missing manual. Although the current version of the software is Dreamweaver CS3, most of the information in the book will be of help to you. There is a huge variety of teach-yourself Dreamweaver manuals available in bookshops or from Amazon, including titles in the popular "for Dummies", "Quickstart" and "Sams Teach Yourself" series.
